This auction is for a superb vintage hardback FIRST EDITION (First impression of the First Edition) entitled “The English Country Chair,” subtitled “An Illustrated History of Chairs and Chairmaking,” by Ivan Sparkes, with SEVENTY-FOUR wonderful vintage photographic illustrations.
It was published by Spurbooks Limited, of Buckinghamshire, in 1973 and is the FIRST EDITION.

The book measures 8.75 inches x 6.5 inches.
The 160 pages are nice and neat with a little foxing near the covers/rims. The binding is very good with no loose or missing pages.
There are NO inscriptions and NO other ink or pencil markings in the book.
The original hardback cover is in very good condition for its age having been largely protected by the original dust-jacket. The dust jacket is inworn/tatty at the edges and a little grubby. The gold on the spine is very good.
A wonderfully illustrated vintage FIRST EDITION – the starting price is just ONE PENNY, with NO RESERVE, and I WILL SELL to the highest bidder.
